"Danger" Tribute Bike

A month or so ago, Scottie's Workshop bought a Craigslist R60/2 that had an R69S engine in it. This bike will be restored and hotrodded a bit.  My initial plan is to have it ready to ride for the 2014 Melee.

This bike will be built in memory of our dear friend, Danger Man Jones, who left this world too soon. He was a good boy. This bike will be built as a tribute to Danger and named in his honor.

The basic plan is to rebuild the engine as a light weight high compression R69S. Pistons will be modified for extra valve lift, lightweight pins and flywheel. The valve train will be lightened. Carburetor options are limited on the R69S. I'd like to run something with altitude compensation.  We'll see what happens.

I'm not sure what is going to happen with the chassis. I've always wanted to remove the heavy fenders on a /2 and replace them with hand-hammered aluminum ones.

Here are some pics to whet your appetite.  Stay tuned for more news on this project.
